Mir Hossein Mousavi, the main reformist candidate in Iran’s presidential election of June 12, has issued a new statement explaining how he envisions the future and the role that the “Green Path of Hope,” the movement that he is founding, can play in it. The strongly-worded statement accuses Ayatollah Khamenei — without naming him — and the hardliners of distorting Islam, violating the Constitution, destroying morality in society, and forgetting the ideals of the 1979 Revolution, the most important of which was political freedom for all.

Norooz News, the official website of the reformist party Islamic Iran Participation Front released on Thursday the names of 72 people who have until now been killed following the post-election violence. The website has announced that efforts are still being made to identify the other victims of the unrest.
The report is in response to false statistics released by “officials related to the perpetrators of the coup regarding the death toll of recent events including comments made by commander of the revolutionary guard.”
Earlier Gen. Mohammad Ali Jafari of the Revolutionary Guards had claimed that in total only 27 people had been killed and only 7 of them had been protestors and the rest were all “revolutionary forces” and Basijis which had been killed by the protestors.
The report names 72 people who have been killed until now and have been identified and promises that the efforts to identify more victims will continue.
The death toll is presented in two lists; one dedicated to those whose names have been announced through official bodies and the second one contains the names of those victims whose families have not yet announced the names of their loved ones through official channels due to pressure from officials.
The first list is as follows:

After a careful investigation conducted by Green Wave of Freedom new details have emerged about the case of the daughter of a martyr of the Iran-Iraq War. This heartbreaking story suggests in addition to Taraneh Mousavi, another girl has met a similar fate and has become another victim of the criminal acts perpetrated by some members of the Basij. We can confirm that following the crime, this girl’s body was burnt with acid and finally secretly buried in a mass-grave in section 302 of Tehran’s Behesht-e Zahra cemetery in the absence of her family. In an amazing twist of fate, this news comes at a time when the government born out of a bloody coup is forming its cabinet.

Within recent days, numerous emails have been sent to us regarding the PhD degree of Ahmadinejad’s nominees for the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology which have caused us to investigate the issue. Initial investigations shows that like the person who appointed him as deputy of the Interior Ministry, Kamran Daneshju has also lied several time about his academic credentials. In order to prevent another fiasco similar to the one regarding Ali Kordan’s falsified PhD degree from Oxford to happen again, it is a necessity for independent members of the parliament to further investigate the issue.
