In the two weeks prior to 5 October, Dr Maleki could not have any contact with his family, even though his lawyer had been informed that the interrogations had come to an end. This has raised suspicions that Dr Maleki’s health may have deteriorated in prison as a result of mistreatment in prison.
The Maleki family are holding high-level officials of the Islamic Republic responsible for anything that happens to him. Some believe that Dr Maleki’s arrest, despite his poor health is only a way of physically eliminating him.
