According to Mousavi’s official website Kalemeh, in a meeting held between the two former heads of state, they both expressed concern about the continuation of arrests, the restriction of freedom, slandering of political figures and immoral and unlawful behaviours on the part of authorities.
Mousavi and Khatami stated that society “will not be swerved from its path by force and pressure,” while emphasising on the need for returning to the rule of law
In the end, the two popular reformist leaders called on an end to the current “security atmosphere” in the country in order to remove obstacles in the way of the media and especially the press which prevent them from fulfilling their responsibilities.
