Iranian Official issues threat ahead of 7 December rally

Appearing on Iranian state-run television, Gholamhossein Mohseni Eje’i promised that any action deemed as “disruptive of the system” will be met with zero tolerance and that no excuses will be accepted from anyone.

This latest threat comes at a time when different political factions especially student groups are preparing for a new round of rallies across the country on the 7 December (student day) in order to protest the announced election results in June.

Despite the continuous threats directed towards the opposition, Iranians have not been deterred from taking part in demonstrations on different occasions. The most recent show of force by the opposition on 4 November, demonstrated that the spirit of the people has not yet been dampened, despite relentless efforts by authorities to terrorise society.
