According to the official website of the Committee of Human Rights Reporters one of Mr Zeidabadi’s lawyers had stated that his continued imprisonment was “illegal” as his family had already paid the bail for his release in early October.
It should be noted that according to this report, Zeidabadi will have to serve 5 year his exile sentence in the north-eastern city of Gonabad.
In a clear attempt to complicate matters for Zeidabadi and his family, the courts have doubled the initial bail money set by the judiciary in October which means that the Zeidabadi family will have to pay around USD 500000 for his release.
Zeidabadi was arrested in June following the disputed presidential elections which many believe was a monumental election fraud.
