60 men on motorbikes harass Karroubi

Karroubi had been in the city of Qom for paying his respect to Ayatollah Ghazi, Imam Khomeini’s representative in Lorestan Province who had recently passed away. According to Karroubi’s website the police and security forces maintained good cooperation with Karroubi’s team when he was returning to his place of stay. However after 1 AM more than 60 Basij forces gathered outside Karroubi’s place of stay in Qom and chanted slurs and slogans such as “death to the hypocrite” and caused horror among the residents of that area.

After a while the Basij forces had to leave the scene due to the presence of police.

Yesterday Mir Hossein Mousavi issued a statement condemning the conduct of the Basij on the 30th anniversary of its foundation, describing it as an “oppressing machine” on the payroll of the government.

The Basij forces were used after the post-election unrest which was sparked by a monumental fraud which saw Ahmadinejad take the office of presidency for another four years.
